Who We Help
DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN
We have the same issues that China and other countries face here in the United States. You may hear a nightly news cast about a case of child abuse, but how long does this image stay with you? We can not forget that these children have lost everything! There pain will go on for a long time...long after the news cast aired on your TV set.
In Maricopa county 58% of the kids taken into protective care suffer from neglect, 35% physical abuse, 65% sexual abuse and 1% emotional abuse. Substance abuse and child maltreatment are tragically and undeniable linked. All children wake up in a world that is not of their own making, but children of alcoholics and other drug-addicted parents wake up in a world that doesn't take care of them.
We support government agencies and other non profit organizations that advocate for these children. We promote foster parenting and support the foster parents that give
of themselves to help improve the quality of life for a child.
At least seven million American children have alcoholic parents. Alcoholism runs in families, and children of alcoholics are four times more likely than other children to become alcoholics. A child in such a family may have a variety of problems that adversely affect their lives. They may experience;
Guilt
Anxiety
Embarrassment
Inability to have close relationships
Confusion
Anger
Depression
Although the child tries to keep the alcoholism a secret, teachers, relatives, other adults or friends may sense that something is wrong. We know that alcoholism and/or drug use affects the whole family. However, a child often feels very helpless within this environment. Young children of alcoholics commonly believe they are alone in the situation with no where to turn.
We can help them by extending supportive understanding, love, and hope.
The Global Child Advocates team of agents has been sent out on a huge mission to defend the persecuted, show kindness to the broken hearted, provide aid to orphans, serve as role models, mentors, and advocates for the disadvantaged and to make our world a safe place for kids everywhere.

ORPHAN CHILDREN & SENIORS
The Shanggao Social Welfare Institute in Jiangxi has requested our partnership and assistance. This year we plan to do the following:
- Raise funds to improve the living conditions for foster families and special needs babies in Shanggao County.
- Develop a mentor program between the Shanggao No. 2 High School and the Shanggao Social Welfare Institute.
- Raise funds to modify and improve the senior residential facilities i.e. in-room safety alarm system.
We support those that have made the decision to advocate for these children. We admire the senior
ladies in these photos. They are the foster mothers for these adorable babies. Their homes are in need of repair, their living conditions are not good, yet they have made the choice to help save these children... OUR children. If they can do this, we know that many others here in America can make the same choice to save a life.
More than 10 per cent of the population in China is 65 years of age or older. Because of this and declining fertility rates, the United Nations considers China to be an aging nation. Officials and experts alike do not deny that there aren't enough resources to care for the growing number of elderly. Many homeless seniors live in orphanages and help care for the babies. Loving seniors in China understand how it feels to be forgotten and alone in this world. The orphan babies give these seniors a reason to get up in the morning, despite the poverty that surrounds them.
We must not forget the older children that remain in China's orphanages. For those of us that have adopted children from China, have you ever tried to imagine your child's life in China if she/he had not become a part of your family? Have you ever thought about the older children who know that their chance for adoption will never come? When it is time for these children to leave the relative comfort and safety of the orphanage, most of them leave poorly prepared to make their way in the world. We provide aid to these children to give them a better quality of life.
